Welcome to my blog page. Since my new website is launching right at the end of 2020, early 2021, I guess a recap of how this year has been is in order.

Although I am available by appointment all year round, we usually relaunch the reopening of the studio (from April to September) in April with an Easter Day where we offer Easter eggs and generally chat the day away, whilst also discussing our wonderful art and gifts (of course). Sadly, COVID saw fit to hit us before then so we were in lockdown this year. Thoughts then turned to jobs around the house, and getting the garden ready for spring or summer as couldn’t do much else.

Eventually, in the summer, things were looking up, and along with many of you, we were feeling more positive about things. We remained open by appointment only during that time. This was mostly for the safety of our customers so that they could visit individually or in their bubble. The hand sanitiser and box of gloves remain on the table ready for last minute visitors before Christmas.

The studio is packed full of art, and I have completed a few commissions, including a set of six canvases for Rassasy, our local Deli and Farm Shop. I also exhibit a few images in their store to help promote the studio. A small portion of my photography is displayed in the studio together with my range of photographic gifts, and I am known locally for my Instagram posts. Then, we have Loraine’s beautiful stained-glass pieces and carved wooden items, plus Tina’s gorgeous jewellery range including recycled button and bead items. I must confess, some of their pieces never see the light of day as I scoop them up before anyone else has a chance!

I have continued to promote the studio throughout 2020 with an exhibition at Beach Road Gallery, Littlehampton in Sept/October and on social media; learning as I go about all the tricks and tips for Facebook and Instagram. I’ve actually lost track of how many Christmas online Fairs I have participated in since October, but I can tell you I am currently stall no. 4 in our Ferring village online Christmas market, which runs till Dec 18th. I hope to bring you news of future events next year, so watch this space.

The reason I decided (at the last minute) to change my website was because my existing one was coming up for renewal. So many people have asked me why I don’t call my website after the Studio, so here we are… I hope you enjoy scrolling through the new site. Please do leave me feedback; whether positive or negative, it’s all useful. Have yourselves a Merry (and safe) Christmas and see you next year.

Hello!  I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas despite the restrictions?  Whilst the start of 2021 may not be what we wanted, staying safe and trying to stay positive that this will end, eventually, is how we will all get through this.  Here at Blueview Art Studio, although we have had to close, we are still busy creating art and gifts to put a smile on your faces and make you feel a bit brighter.  Our work is currently commission based and with Valentine's Day just around the corner, why  not contact me to arrange a special gift? Stay safe; stay home and look after yourself and your loved ones. Cathy x
